Information about Britain and the European Union

Welcome to the activists' site of the Campaign for an Independent Britain. From here you can take part in on-line lobbying in support of getting Britain out of the European Union.

1) Thank you for signing the petition. Please now write to your MP saying that you have signed the Campaign for an Independent Britain petition for Britain to leave the EU. Please state that you are one of their constituents.

2) Please prepare your letter, making the following points:

• The British people have not had a chance to vote on EU membership. The 1975 referendum was simply whether we wished to remain a part of a trading partnership.
• EU membership costs us £115 million a week - money that would be better spent on transport or the health service.
• The French and Dutch 'no' votes on the proposed EU constitution means that the EU facing the possibility of collapse. Britain should now distance itself from this failed economic and political experiment.
• While we remain a member of the EU, we run the risk of being dragged into further European integration, for example the euro.
